16/07/2008 Poems for Merthyr town centre benches Grahame Davies's poetry has been featured in some public artworks which have been created as part of the redevelopment of Merthyr Tydfil town centre. Some of his poems have been inset in large steel lettering into the polished granite benches which are part of the regeneration work in the town's Market Square, High Street and Swan Street areas. Grahame Davies lived in Merthyr from 1986 until 1997, when he moved to Cardiff. His first book, Adennill Tir which appeared in 1997, was based largely in Merthyr, and it is quotes from that volume which have been used on the benches.
