'O Beata Trinitas' with Karl Jenkins for Trinity College, Carmarthen.

On June 28, a new work by the world-famous composer Karl Jenkins was performed to celebrate the fact that Trinity College, Carmarthen, has been granted university status.

Grahame Davies provided the words for the choral work composed by the only living composer in the Classic FM Hall of Fame.

‘O Beata Trinitas’ was performed for the first time as the highlight of the Trinity Arts Festival on Sunday June 28.

The poem, in Latin, Welsh and English, includes adaptations of material from the Black Book of Carmarthen, and of Latin college graces, as well as new verses.

The work was performed by the Concert Choir which includes 150 members of Côr CF1, Côr Godre’r Garth and Côr y Drindod. There was also a performance of Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, featuring the soprano Fflur Wyn, the tenor Alun Wyn Jenkins and the bass Owen Webb.

There are further details and pictures of the evening here.
