Psychogeography of Welsh America

Grahame Davies visited the United States for a tour in late October, aided by Wales Arts International, and taking in north east Pennsylvania, Vermont and New York. He was a guest of King's College, in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, where he performed a reading and took two seminars with students. He also gave readings at Jim Thorpe and one at the Scranton Cultural Centre, organised by the Mulberry Poets and Writers Association and the St David's Society. He also visited the Poultney area of Vermont, where he performed a reading at Green Mountain College with Gary Lindorff. In both cases, he worked with U.S. artists on collaborative projects relating to the psychogeography of areas of historic Welsh settlement. He also took part in a reading at Asch's Barn in Vermont with Frank Asch and Gary Lindorff. On October 30, he performed with the Welsh-American bass Michael Douglas Jones at the Celtic Hallowe'en celebration at the Irish Consulate in New York.
